maxine eschger
Maxine Eschger is a photographer and printmaker who recently completed a B.A. in Art Practice with a minor in Political Economy at UC Berkeley. She is currently based in Los Angeles, California.
She served as a member of the editorial team at the Daily Californian as the Head Photo Editor, Deputy Photo Editor, a Senior Staff Member, and the Training Manager. Her photos have been published in PhotoVogue Italia, The New York Times, The Jerusalem Post, and Forbes. Her photographic work has ranged from political protests, sports, to concerts including Vampire Weekend, Adrienne Lenker, and Royal Otis.
In her current work she strives to create compelling visual narratives relating to themes of girlhood. Having covered classic events she is more interested in elevating everyday moments into powerful and memorable images.
She has worked primarily in photography and is expanding her practice into printmaking and installation. She is open to any freelance work relating to photography or design. She currently is the creative director for a Brooklyn based band while separately working as a production assistant to a Los Angeles based jewelry designer.
